The birth rate is falling more and more

The number of countries whose birth rate fell below the replacement level (2.1 children per woman) rose sharply from 5% in 1950 to 50% in 2020.

Choosing whether and when to have a child is a human right

Infertility is a growing problem around the world, but only a small percentage of people who need help for a child get the care they need.

Families develop healthy economies

The decline in the birth rate poses a challenge that threatens economic growth and social stability.

We call on politicians:

  • Enact laws and programs to build families, equitable access to treatment, and reimbursement of fertility care costs.
  • To support the development of easy-to-use and more affordable high-quality assisted reproductive technologies.
  • To deter the risk factors for infertility — air pollution and the spread of toxic chemicals.
  • Provide infrastructure and support to increase access to care, especially in areas with low socio-economic development.
