Welcome to Invitro Clinic “Sofia”
The first step is the most important, and often the most difficult. Many couples postpone the appointment with a reproductive medicine specialist out of fear, shame or simply because they do not know what will happen. A visit to an in vitro clinic is often associated with many emotions — hope, excitement, but also some uncertainty. We at Invitro Clinic “Sofia” believe that every beginning should be calm, well organized and filled with trust. That's why we tell you what to expect at your first meeting with our team.
The first meeting is for diagnosis, planning and building trust between you and the medical team. The truth is that the first examination is completely painless and is the beginning of your individual action plan.

How to prepare?
You do not need to carry anything special — only your medical records, if you have one (previous tests, hormone profiles, spermogram, etc.). Write down your questions beforehand — it's normal to be confused at first. If you are a couple, we recommend that both partners attend the first screening — so we can discuss all aspects of the path to future parenthood together.
What does the first consultation include?
1. Medical conversation (anamnesis)
The doctor will ask you questions about:
- the menstrual cycle;
- previous pregnancies and abortions;
- past surgical or hormonal interventions;
- duration of attempts to conceive to date;
- family encumbrance;
- lifestyle, medication, chronic diseases.
2. Gynecological examination and ultrasound
Transvaginal ultrasound is performed for:
- examination of the ovaries and endometrium;
- establishing the presence of follicles;
- detection of cysts, fibroids, hydrosalpinges, etc.
3. Appointment of initial research
Already after the first consultation, an individual diagnostic plan is drawn up. This may include:
- hormonal studies (AMH, FSH, LH, estradiol, prolactin, TSH, etc.) ;
- spermogram (and possibly additional tests to it);
- infectious status;
- immunological, coagulation and genetic tests (if necessary);
- checking the patency of pipes;
- karyotype (with repeated losses or problematic history).
What's next?
Once we have the complete diagnostic picture, our team will prepare individual treatment plantailored to your needs and goals. You will know what the possibilities are, what the expected results are and what decisions lie ahead for you.
The first examination in the Invitro clinic “Sofia” is not scary, but important. This is the moment when you will hear a competent opinion, begin to understand the reasons behind your difficulties and get a plan of action. And most importantly, you will feel that you are no longer alone in this journey. We will be by your side with expertise, humanity and full dedication — from the first meeting to the happy ending.
