A letter to a future mother who goes through her IVF journey

Dear future mom,

We know this time is not what you imagined it to be. We know that you did not dream about hormones, procedures, tests and waiting. That your heart is full of hope, but sometimes pain.

We want to tell you something simple: you are not alone.

Behind the door of every IVF clinic are women like you — quiet, brave, sometimes desperate, sometimes hopeful. And they all carry in themselves a dream. Same as yours.

You're stronger than you think. Every time you've gathered the strength to do another study. Every time you've swallowed disappointment. Every time you went on — even with shaky faith. It's power. And this power brings life.

Sometimes it will seem to you that you can not stand it. Sometimes you will ask yourself, “Why me?” And sometimes you just need someone to hug you and say, “It's going to happen.”

And that's exactly what we want to tell you.

We, the people on the other side of the microscope, know how hard this time is. And that's why we don't just work with cells — we work with hearts. We listen. We believe. We're trying again.

And we know that a very small beginning — even a few cells — can change lives. Yours. And someone else very special.

We don't know exactly when that will happen. We don't know how long it will last. But we know you're headed that way. And we promise you that we will be there for you. Not just as doctors, embryologists, medecine nurses. Like people.
