Recipients
The recipient program is delicate and full of hope. We believe that parenting is a choice, an act of love and dedication — regardless of biology. We will be there for you at every stage.

Who are the recipients?
A recipient is any person or couple who uses donor eggs, sperm, or embryos to achieve pregnancy. This decision is often dictated by medical indications, genetic risks or age-related circumstances.
Recipients can be:
- Women with depleted ovarian reserve,
- Couples with severe male factor and lack of sperm,
- Carriers of genetic diseases,
- Single women who want to become parents,
- Women in need of transfer of a donated embryo.
What types of donor materials are used?
- Donor eggs: used in women with low or missing ovarian reserve.
- Sperm from a donor: used in severe male infertility or in single women.
- Donor embryos: an option for women who cannot use their own eggs and/or do not have a partner.
Why do you have to wait until the eggs are ready?
The egg donation program is designed for women who cannot use their own eggs to achieve pregnancy due to:
- premature depletion of the ovarian reserve;
- premature menopause;
- absence of ovaries due to surgery or congenital anomaly;
- repeated unsuccessful in vitro attempts with low number or quality of eggs;
- carrying severe hereditary diseases that should not be passed on to the offspring.
Who can be an egg donor?
An egg donor can be a woman between the ages of 18 and 34, in good physical and mental health, without chronic and hereditary diseases. Before joining the program, each potential donor undergoes a full range of research — medical, hormonal, genetic and psychological. They will show their current date of entry, that is, that they will not be able to wait until 5 days from the eggs laid in the first place. up to and including non-existent co-operative days. The weight of the patient shall be taken from the specialisation test for the purpose of placing the eggs in the laboratory. The animals will always be called from the eggs, the eggs, the eggs, the embryos and the pregnant ones that come out of it. The eggs obtained are boiled and peeled from them can be cooked as a dessert. They can be sampled, given to a patient or called for to be released on a daily basis.
Legal Regulation and Anonymity
Egg donation in Bulgaria is carried out according to Ordinance No. H-2 of 2023. Donation is voluntary, anonymous and gratuitous. The donor and recipient do not know each other and do not receive information about each other. The donor has no legal or financial obligations to the child born.
Who is the sperm donation program for?
- Women without a partner: Women who wish to become mothers but do not have a partner can use donor sperm for insemination or in vitro procedure.
- Couples with male infertility factor: couples in which the man does not produce sperm (azoospermia) or there are severe disorders in sperm quality, donor sperm is an opportunity to achieve pregnancy.
- Genetic diseases in the man: If the man is a carrier of hereditary diseases that can be passed on to the offspring, the couple may choose to use donor sperm to avoid the risk.
What are the conditions for donors?
A sperm donor can be any adult male who meets the following requirements:
- Be in good physical and mental health, without chronic or hereditary diseases.
- Have normal spermogram indicators.
- Not to be placed under a ban.
- Have given written informed consent to sperm donation.
- Before donating, candidate donors undergo a series of examinations, including for infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis), as well as genetic tests.
Anonymity and legal framework
In Bulgaria, sperm donation is anonymous and free of charge. Donors do not have information about the recipients, as well as vice versa. Donors do not bear any legal or financial responsibility towards the children born.
Donated sperm is quarantined for a period of 6 months, after which repeated examinations of the donor are carried out to confirm the absence of infectious diseases before the material is used for assisted reproduction.
Who is the embryo donation program for?
1. Women with depleted ovarian reserve: Women who, due to age or medical reasons, do not have enough or quality eggs.
2. Couples with severe male infertility factor: When a man does not produce sperm or has serious genetic diseases.
3. Women without a partner: Women who wish to become mothers but do not have a partner and cannot use their own genetic material.
4. Couples with genetic diseases: When there is a risk of transmitting hereditary diseases to offspring.
How is the procedure going?
1. Consultation with a reproductive specialist: Evaluating the medical history and determining the appropriate approach.
2. Selection of donated embryo: Selection of an embryo from those available in the bank, according to physical characteristics and medical compatibility.
3. Endometrial preparation: Hormone therapy to prepare the uterine lining for implantation.
4. Embryo transfer: The procedure of transferring the embryo to the uterus.
5. Pregnancy follow-up: Monitoring the development of pregnancy through regular check-ups.
Legal framework and anonymity
In Bulgaria, embryo donation is regulated by Ordinance No. H-2 of 2022 and the Assisted Reproduction Act. Donation is anonymous and gratuitous, with donors and recipients having no information about each other. Donated embryos are stored in licensed banks and used after passing the necessary medical and legal procedures.
Psychological and ethical support
Accepting donor material is an important and sometimes difficult decision. At our clinic, we offer emotional support and discreet counseling to help you go through this process with confidence and peace of mind.
Success rate
Programs with donor material have one of the highest success rates in assisted reproduction. The reason — the donated eggs and sperm are from healthy and young donors who have undergone a strict selection.
